As we are all aware of by now, there are shipment delays that have dramatically impacted just about every industry. Today we are talking about 25 easy updates you can make to your home while you wait for your furniture to arrive! I will link some of my favorite products for easy home updates below!
Start over with a clean slate
- Change out your cabinet hardware (kitchen, bathroom, storage cabinets, etc.) Ideally you can mix two tones.
- Update old fans and light fixtures
- Switch out your shower head for a spa-like experience
- Buy a new refreshed rug for your living room
- Upgrade your accent pillows in your living room and bedroom (Maybe get new bedding while you’re at it!)
- Organize your home in preparation for your new furniture
- Install new door knobs/levers
- Swap out your switch plates
Start those projects you’ve been putting off
- Work on that accent wall you’ve been thinking about
- Or, try peel and stick wallpaper in your half bath or bookshelves
- Hang your curtains properly (4-6 inches above the window frame)
- DIY and restore furniture found on Facebook Marketplace, thrift stores, or OfferUp
- Refresh your walls with new paint
- Upgrade your flooring with a pro or DIY
- Build the gallery wall you’ve been dreaming up or freshen up your wall art
- Add trim work/moulding
Or add some extra pizazz
- Add under cabinet lighting to your kitchen cabinets
- Have your existing furniture reupholstered
- Bring in some greenery with real or faux plants
- Build floating shelves for more storage or to display photos and keepsakes
- Frame your builder grade bathroom mirror
- Update your flush mount lights with new styles
- Organize your pantry or open shelving with decorative and functional baskets
- Move around your current decor and add new pieces
- Replace your old window treatments
