Okay. Let’s talk about it. I know you’ve been tempted. You see it in magazines, on Instagram, Tik Tok, and maybe even an episode of Real Housewives. You know what I’m talking about, right? The RH Cloud Sofa? Ohhh yeah, that!
Odds are, if you are currently searching or have been on the search for a sofa in recent years, you or your friends have come across the RH Cloud Sofa. I mean, heck! They claim on their website that it is “The World’s Most Comfortable Sofa.” That has to mean something, right? RH does not advertise as many other furniture brands do, they rely on word of mouth, reputation, and more recently their new restaurants in some locations to spread awareness of their brand. If you ever have a chance to visit a restaurant, simply go for the atmosphere, you won’t be let down.
RH Cloud Sofa
Now back to the sofa. She is PRICEY. That is the biggest standout of this sofa. It comes either as a modular sofa so you can customize it to your room or a standard sofa in varying lengths/depths.
Price-wise if you choose a modular sofa, it starts at $1,571 a component if you are a member, and $2,095 if you are not. That price adds up fast with each component you add. Their standard sofa in the smallest size starts at $3,896 if you are a member, and $5,195 if you are not. So you are looking at $10k plus for a sofa 😳. (Being a member at RH means for $150 a year, you get 25% off all full-priced items, an additional 20% off sale items, and complimentary interior design services. It might be worth it if you are considering purchasing any furniture from RH).
Alright now to the stats (I am going to focus on the modular customizable sectional collection):
Pros:
- Ability to customize your sofa to your space
- Over 150 fabrics to choose from
- Two depths available
- Modern appearance
Cons:
- It is low to the ground, so for taller people, it may not be the easiest to get up.
- The cushions are filled with feathers, they will need to be fluffed. If you are someone who likes a put together home that does not look like someone just took a nap on your sofa, this means you will have to fluff your cushions after every use. And because they are filled with feathers, they are heavier than they look.
- After use, the fabric will have a worn wrinkled appearance.
After reading through and you believe the Cloud Sofa is right for you then hooray! If you are still questioning some aspects, I have put together a few alternatives (psst. also with a cheaper price tag).
West Elm Harmony Collection
Starting with the West Elm Harmony Collection. Depending on which sofa or sectional you are interested in, you could save over half the price of what you would spend on an RH Cloud Sofa! And I love the wood legs available as an option on some of these sofas! It adds some extra height and detail.
Pros:
- Ability to customize your sofa to your space
- Around 100 fabric options
- Three depths available
- Option for a bench or multi seat
- It is a standard height sofa making it easier to stand up
Cons
- It still is feather filled, but it holds it’s shape better than the RH sofa.

World Market Brynn Sofa
An alternative that is quite a bit cheaper, but still a great option is the Ivory Feather Filled Brynn Sofa from World Market. It currently is priced at $1,199, quite a steal if I have ever seen one.
Pros:
- Price!
- A few inches taller than the RH Cloud Sofa
- In stock and can be in your home in a few weeks
Cons:
- Only one color option – Ivory. If having a white couch scares you, then this is not your sofa.
- One size – 86″W x 38″D x 33″H
- Like the RH Cloud, you will have to fluff the cushions due to it being feather filled.
World Market Brynn Sofa
There are many things to consider when buying a sofa for your home. But ultimately the biggest factor to consider when considering the RH Cloud Sofa is first and foremost the price. Followed by the height of the sofa, fabric, and if you are okay with a worn-in look to your couch.
